How many times have you heard those pearls of wisdom. I had to learn that lesson and swallow a bitter pill.
Image origin and Thank You
Busy in my thoughts as I approached the waiting area to board the ferry, I noticed these two giggly teenagers munching crisps and the two empty seats nearby. So I plonked myself not paying anyone any particular attention but still deep in my thoughts, if I should hire a carpet shampooing machine or should I get rid of the carpet altogether and replace it with nice bamboo flooring as I had done in the bedrooms.
I boarded the ferry still with a myriad of random thoughts.
But the question I want to pose; What do we project to others, as we go about our daily lives?
You see, as we we were getting off I was in the process of collecting my rucksack when I looked up and caught the eye of one of these giggly girls, who flashed a smile. Just a quick smile, there one millisecond and gone the next.
I did nothing. I thought! How wrong could I be, because, I must have been frowning, as the other girl said to her (the smiler)
“He must be gay”. They giggled some more and I was speechless.
Note to self:
Stop Frowning. You’ll be stuck with it! Smile, it costs nothing!
Britain must radically change its immigration policy and end immediately the deportation of failed asylum-seekers who fear persecution in Iran, leading peers will tell the Government today.
A gay teenager who sought sanctuary in Britain when his boyfriend was executed in Iran is battling authorities who want to return him to his home country.
Mehdi Kazemi, 19, came to London to study English in 2005 but later discovered that his boyfriend had been arrested by the Iranian police, charged with sodomy and hanged.
Mr Kazemi was told by his father in Tehran that his boyfriend had been questioned about his sexual relationships before his execution in April 2006 and named him under interrogation.
Mr Kazemi claimed asylum in Britain, fearing for his life if he returned to Iran but his case was refused late last year. He fled Britain for the Netherlands, where he is now being detained.
He appeared before a Dutch court this week to fight his return to Britain, where he fears authorities will send him back to Iran.
In a letter to the British government, Mr Kazemi told Home Secretary Jacqui Smith: “I wish to inform the Secretary of State that I did not come to the UK to claim asylum. I came here to study and return to my country.
“But in the past few months my situation back home has changed. The Iranian authorities have found out that I am a homosexual and they are looking for me.”
Peter Tatchell of the gay rights campaign group Outrage, and one of Mr Kazemi’s supporters, said a Dutch appeal court was expected to decide soon whether to grant him permission to apply for asylum in Holland or send him back to Britain.
Mr Tatchell said: “The Home Office decision to deport Mehdi back to Iran is shameful and reckless. If returned to Tehran, he will be at risk of imprisonment, torture and execution.”
A Home Office spokeswoman said the Government did not comment on individual cases, but added: “The UK government is committed to providing protection for those individuals found to be genuinely in need, in accordance with our commitments under international law.”
I knew it! But could never quite put my finger on it. These gays are targeting two year olds. Toddler terrorists! I’m s*i**ing myself.
Sally Kern hits the nail on the head. She has the answer to the problems of the nation (i.e. US).
The only danger homosexuals have ever been as far as I can see (purely subjective):
they hog all the equipment in the gym, and hell
they look after their body, and
worse still, dress co-ordinated.
That, in my opinion is the biggest danger to manhood, global warming, the universe and what was that number, yes 42. Men can no longer look like the stupid idiots we really are. While we are on the subject; Why is David Beckham looking all gay’ish?
The homosexual agenda: Didn’t know they had one. Especially when you consider that they do a lot of cruising trying to find the ideal partner. They haven’t got time between going to the gym, buying beauty products, clothes and cruising.
Remember she is not Gay bashing but just according to gods word, it’s the wrong type of life style. According to Sally, gays are a greater danger than even terrorists or Islam. Wow! Those two words put together is enough to strike terror in the hearts of the average American.
I love freedom of speech. You don’t need to dig a big hole for yourself but alarmingly, there are genuine and right minded people who actually believe in this ideology.
How is this woman any different from an Iranian lawmaker?
Mehdi Kazemi is a gay teenager from Iran. He sought sanctuary in Britain after his boyfriend was hanged for homosexuality. So why is Britain so determined to send him back to Tehran β to almost certain execution?
A gay teenager who sought sanctuary in Britain when his boyfriend was executed by the Iranian authorities now faces the same fate after losing his legal battle for asylum.
Mehdi Kazemi, 19, came to London to study English in 2004 but later discovered that his boyfriend had been arrested by the Iranian police, charged with sodomy and hanged.
This world needs to learn to accept each other as we are. I end with some good words from Peter Tatchel
The only liberation struggle worth fighting is a struggle inspired by love.
Love is the beginning, middle and end of liberation.
Without love, there can be no liberation worthy of the name.
From many small streams, a mighty river flows.
Be a small stream. Flow together. Make a mighty river.
