Turkish police arrest journalists
The Turkish police have this morning arrested more than twenty journalists. They work for media that are associated with the movement of the Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen. A former police chief was arrested as well.
Agents of an anti-terror unit raided the largest newspaper in Turkey, Zaman, in Istanbul. They were met by journalists and supporters who held up banners that read: “The free press can not be silenced.” The police did not manage to arrest the editor and some journalists.
